So, a few girlfriends and I call ourselves the "Double Ds." What that means is for us to know, and for you to find out. Anyway, we had a meeting last week during which we discussed a field trip to Beaufort for some horseback riding and Shrimpfest. We got our permission slips signed and headed out at 9 am sharp this morning. We had a Double D ball. If you have followed this blog for a while, you have already seen the post of when I first went riding.
Jen was our fabulous instructor. Here is Jen in action.

Her sister, Jill, was assistant coach and equally fabulous. Here Jill is getting Whim worked into a hot tizzy scratching his sweet spot. Seriously, look at his face.

The group was rounded out by Kindall and me. Unfortunately Adrienne, the final member, was unable to attend due to ankle surgery. Boooo. However, we are confident she will be in attendance at our next field trip, even if it means she will be scooting alongside us on her tricked out "jazzie."
Anyway, this was Kindall's first riding experience. She was a natural. Check out the perfect posture on this woman.

And, of course, this numnut.

After the awesome lessons, we headed over to the Shrimpfest. We devoured everything from shrimp wontons, to shrimp dumplings, to shrimp bisque, to shrimp sliders to shrimp and grits. Delish. Afterward (and after a slightly embarrassing moment when I almost passed out from dehydration- let's move on . . .) we auditioned a few different photographers to make sure we got the best possible shot of the four of us. This is the winner.

Bra-vo, random photographer chick. Bra-vo.
Then Budweiser tried to recruit two of our ladies to be bud girls. HAWTNESS!

And finally on the walk back to Jen and Jill's parents' house, Kindall felt compelled to swing on this moldy, yet charming, swing in a random person's front yard.

Anyway, dare I say that the Double Ds' first field trip was a roaring success. Next on the agenda is introducing Kindall to the joys of the gun range.
